David Kidney MP Opens Office for Thriving Local Business
David Kidney, MP for Stafford, opened the new offices of Delta Retail Solutions at the United Business Centres in Staffordshire Technology Park on Friday 5th June.
Delta Retail Solutions are a software development and retail solutions company whose flagship product is DRS ePos which provides an electronic point of sale system (EPOS) to run a store’s till and back office system.
David Kidney toured Delta’s offices, was shown how to use DRS ePos, met with the directors of Delta and other local businesses before he officially declared the new offices open.
The company was founded out of Staffordshire University’s Enterprise Fellowship Scheme which provided the business with an office for their first year, mentoring and financial assistance.
Peter Kinder, Managing Director of Delta Retail Solutions, said: "We were delighted that David Kidney was able to officially open our new offices and that he showed so much interest in what we are doing here. Staffordshire is an excellent location for a young business to thrive."
Guy Powell, Delta’s Technical Director added, “Staffordshire University played an important role in the development of Delta. If it wasn’t for a world-class Computing Science degree and the fantastic post-graduation support provided by the university and its enterprise development staff then Delta Retail Solutions would not be where it is today.”
The Staffordshire University Enterprise Fellowship Scheme is a government-backed scheme to provide assistance to start-up businesses in the local area, focussing on university graduates.
